Abstract

T.S. Eliot is famous in English poetry for expressing modern ideas. He was one of the first poets to talk about science and the connection between humans and their environment. His poetry clearly shows the pain of modern industrial life. He wanted a clean environment, free from smoke and pollution. He wished for people to live close to nature. In Urdu poetry, his contemporary poets Allama Iqbal and Majeed Amjad also shared similar thoughts. They wrote about science and the relationship between humans and nature. In the early 20th century, modern car industries grew in North America, Europe, and other parts of the world. The smoke from these cars caused pollution, which led to smog and toxic air that became dangerous for humans. Allama Iqbal got tired of machine life and wanted to live among trees and beautiful valleys. Majeed Amjad was against cutting trees. He believed that cutting trees increases pollution. He thought trees help clean the environment and that forests are important for the safety and survival of humans.
