Khuda Ki Basti" is a novel by Shaukat Siddiqui that looks closely at the problems and changes happening in Pakistani society. The novel explores how life changes because of these social and economic issues. Siddiqui shows not only how the poor are exploited in a capitalist society but also how the helpless and forced lives of individuals become victims of this cruelty. The main characters in the story, Raja Naushad and Salman, are rich and successful, but they are not typical heroes. In fact, they are portrayed as anti-heroes. Throughout the novel, these characters do not show any of the qualities we usually associate with heroes. Instead, they are weak, unlucky, scared, and powerless against the forces of society. They lack strength and moral courage. Because of this, Raja Naushad and Salman are considered anti-heroes. In Khuda Ki Basti, these characters reflect the harsh reality of life in a society where even those who appear successful can be victims of the system around them.
