Abstract

In hand article defines Stream  of Consciousness and provides an overview of its applications. This technique had a huge impact on world literature. It deviates from the conventional view of plot development and offers profound insights into the character's mind. This paper investigates the stream of consciousness as a narrative technique in world novels, as well as its application in Urdu novels. Previously, there was no in-depth study of this technique in Urdu. In general, novels use a combination of free-form and plot-of-consciousness techniques. Perhaps this is the reason why the differences between these techniques are often overlooked.
